About Hannah

At age 18, I worked on a dump truck and garbage truck. I also worked on a laser show at Milwaukee's Discovery World Museum. Then I went to acting school.

My undergraduate degree was theatre with an emphasis in directing from Macalester College, along with two semesters spent at Emerson College. While in Boston, I worked as a puppeteer for a surrealist shadow puppet show.

Now I am a mother of four girls and have received MFA in Film and Video (writing and directing) from Columbia College Chicago.

My films have explored themes of legacy and bestowal within the family and have integrated animation into the live action.

I have been the recipient of two Albert P. Weisman awards, the Rosebud Stipend, and the Columbia College Chicago Production Fund Award.

In addition to currently writing a feature-length script, my thesis film, Beverly's Garden, is entering its festival life, and I have a short documentary on breastfeeding, Mother Suckers, in development and production.
